Join us for an immersive 4-night astrophotography course in the heart of Tenerife’s dark skies. Led by professional astrophotography guides, you’ll have the chance to capture breathtaking celestial objects, from the Andromeda Galaxy to the Milky Way, using professional-grade equipment like Skywatcher telescopes and Celestron mounts. This course offers multiple shooting opportunities, guidance, and the knowledge to make the most of Tenerife’s world-class astrophotography locations. Plus, we’ll provide transport from your accommodation to all locations, ensuring a seamless experience from start to finish.

Course Details

Duration: 4 nights – Typically 5–6 hours each night.

Location: Teide National Park, Tenerife.

Price: €1000 per person.

Group Size: Small groups of 1-4 people to ensure personalised attention and plenty of shooting opportunities.

Availability: Offered year-round.

What to Bring: A camera, warm clothing (it gets cold at night), and any snacks or drinks you may need on the night.

Course Schedule

Each night, you’ll be taken to the best dark sky locations on the island, including Teide National Park and Corona Forestal Natural Park, where the clear, dark skies offer ideal conditions for astrophotography. This course will teach you everything from the basics of your camera settings to how to compose and capture incredible shots of the night sky. You’ll have many opportunities to shoot a variety of celestial objects and landscapes. We’ll provide helpful links and resources for post-processing support, including tips and tutorials to help you edit and enhance your astrophotography images after the course.

What’s Included

Tuition: You’ll be guided by our astrophotography guides who are deeply familiar with Tenerife’s unique terrain and dark sky locations. Our guides know exactly where to take you to get the best shots and provide personalised instruction, ensuring you capture the night sky like a pro.

Equipment Provided: Bring your own gear or use our professional setups, including EQ5 GoTo mounts, Skywatcher 72ED telescopes, or Celestron NexStar 8SE, ensuring you have the tools needed to create stunning astrophotography images.

Transport: Convenient transport is included from your accommodation in the South of Tenerife or a designated meeting point elsewhere on the south of the island to the workshops and back, ensuring you can relax and focus on your photography without worrying about logistics.

Multiple Shooting Opportunities: With four nights of shooting, you’ll have more chances to capture different celestial objects and landscapes, giving you a greater variety of photos to take home. Our small group sizes ensure you get more one-on-one time with our guides to make the most of these opportunities.

Personalised Instruction: Each participant receives tailored guidance to match their experience and goals, from camera settings to composition, helping you grow as a photographer throughout the course.

I had an excellent experience on a one night Milky Way photography workshop in Teide National Park The guides were fantastic and very friendly, and I was able to make use of some great star-tracking equipment with my own camera to capture some epic shots. The workshop was a small group so we pretty much had one-to-one tuition the whole evening. I would highly recommend this company.

    Of course, the location was amazing, but it was the expertise, experience, and equipment that truly made the most of it. We were picked up from an apartment that Dark Skies recommended — also excellent — then chauffeured up the mountain, with plenty of interesting insights along the way. We arrived at a superb sunset vantage point, followed by an ideal spot for photographing the night sky. I’m still enjoying working on the photos months later.

    I recently spent 5 days in Tenerife and joined the 4-night astrophotography workshop with Dark Skies Tenerife. Phil was my guide and the whole experience was amazing. We went to different locations across the island, each more beautiful than the last, and I got to learn all the basics — from setting up the gear properly to capturing everything from deep-sky objects to the Milky Way. Phil is not only a fantastic guide but also an incredibly kind person. His knowledge of both the stars and Tenerife in general is outstanding, and he explains everything in a way that makes it easy to learn. I 100% recommend this workshop to anyone interested in stargazing or astrophotography — it was an unforgettable experience!

Had a fantastic time photographing the night skies. Phil was super helpful with the set of the gear to allow me to take some great shots of Milky Way and Deep Sky Objects. I was worried at first about the cloudy conditions but the skies cleared for 4 nights of astrophotography. I would throughly recommend Dark Skies Tenerife to any Astro shooters.

The Dark Skies team couldn't have been more helpful.  They arranged excellent accomodation for me for the week, and took me to and from the airport. I was a complete novice with regard to astronomy, and when I stepped out of the car the first night to a world of stars, it was amazing.  I will never forget that feeling. I was even able to get a deep sky photo of the Andromeda Galaxy.  Awesome! Sadly the weather wasn't perfect all week, but Phil went out of his way to make sure that I got some great sunset photos and views of Mt Tiede. Highly recommended.

What an amazing experience. Did the astrology and photography night sky experience. Was blown away! I only had an iPhone pro max but the shots I got of the moon and Milky Way are stunning. Phil was an excellent guide and made our tour really personal and interesting. They really know their stuff and where to go to get the best views. Can’t recommend highly enough. So much so that we will be booking again next time we are on the island!
